Lead Software Engineer

I'm a Lead Software Engineer at CCC Intelligent Solutions with nearly a decade of experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native .NET systems on Azure. Most of that time has gone into ASP.NET Core APIs and microservices behind business-critical products, including eight services at CCC that together handle around 45 million requests a month, with full-stack web and desktop work when the problem called for it.

These days, I'm leading a team of four other engineers modernizing specific modules of CCC ONE: moving functionality from the legacy desktop product onto web APIs, and building new microservices where they fit. CCC ONE is used by roughly 30,000 repair shops, so each module moves over with full backward compatibility while every shop keeps running. That's the kind of work I do best: hard technical problems I can own end to end, from system design through production.

While my background is in C#, most of my code now comes from AI agents I direct and review, primarily using Claude Code. The architecture, the trade-offs, and the call on what ships stay with me; the agents handle more of the typing. In fact, this entire website was built the same way, and the code is on GitHub!

Outside of work, I live in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my wife and child. I love to read, hike, play games, and spend time with my family.
